services: group study room policy.
The University Library has 9 state-of-the-art study rooms available to the UNO community for group study and meeting purposes. Many have media players and software, computers, projection screens, and whiteboards. For a list of rooms, their equipment, furnishings, and software offerings, please consult the Group Study Room Specifications at the main circulation desk.
Eligible Users
Group study rooms are available to current UNO students, staff, and faculty.
Check-out
Eligible users should present their UNO MavCard I.D. to the circulation desk in order to check out a room on their library account and receive a key. The key is the sole responsibility of the user to whom it is checked out. Do not give to other members of the group. Rooms that have been reserved and are not checked out within 15 minutes after the appointed hour will be released for use by other groups.
Terms of use
- Rooms are intended for use by groups of three or more. Individual use is not allowed, unless a patron requires access to the video editing software.
- Rooms may be reserved in advance by a study group either in person or over the phone; however, they can only be made within the current month.
- A group study room may be renewed if the following two hour block has not been reserved by another group. Renewals may be done 10 minutes prior to when the key is due back at the circulation desk.
- Rooms can only be reserved for two hours at a time by a study group. Individuals in the study group may not make multiple back-to-back reservations to increase the reservation time.
- Rooms must be vacated and the key returned to the circulation desk 15 minutes before the library is scheduled to close. Fines will accrue if the key is not returned on time to the circulation desk.
- The room is intended for academic study and research purposes. Groups that engage in non-academic or disruptive behavior will be asked to leave the group study room.
