The library offers a wide variety of places for the individual or a group to study on campus.

Study Space

General Seating
General seating areas are available on all three floors of the library. Large tables and individual carrels are available on all floors, with a select number of couches available on the main (second) floor. Wireless access is available throughout the library with ethernet cable ports available in the Dr. Guinter Kahn Addition space. The third floor is designated as the "quiet study floor". No cell phone conversations are allowed, so please turn cell phone ringers off when using the third floor.

Graduate Study Carrels
The University Library has 50 study carrels available to UNO graduate students to facilitate scholarly research using library resources. Each carrel provides two overhead locking bin spaces, data port, one chair, and one locking file drawer.

Group Study Rooms
Study rooms are located on the first and main floors of the library available for and suited to group study. Please note, the rooms are reserved for group study only, not individual study and only available to UNO students currently enrolled in classes.

The study rooms are internet ready and equipped with presentation equipment, VCR/DVD players, tables, chairs and whiteboards. The study rooms are equipped with the same software available on the public access computers. Group study rooms may be reserved for 2 hour blocks of time through the Circulation Desk.

Library Café

Come visit the new Library Café, located on the main floor of University Library. Quench your thirst with a variety of soft drinks or a Starbucks Coffee and Cappuccino. Have a snack, or order a panini sandwich for lunch.

The Café menu includes fresh salads, soups, signature wraps and your choice of five grilled panini sandwiches throughout the day, along with a light breakfast fare of pastries, bagels and breads.

Regular Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 7:00 am – 9:00 pm
Friday: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
Sunday: 2:00 pm – 9:00 pm

3R Lounge

The library is in the process of renovating the 3R lounge and it is currently not available for students to use. The library will be opening a new and improved student lounge upon the completion of the renovation project. Check the library web page for future announcements.
