The Library maintains a collection of all theses and dissertations completed by students enrolled in University of Nebraska at Omaha graduate programs, the Honor's Program, and Writer's Workshop.
Submission Guidelines
To submit theses and dissertations, please consult the appropriate section below:
Masters, Educational Specialists, and Doctoral Dissertations
All UNO theses and dissertations for masters, educational specialist or doctoral degrees are
submitted electronically.
Complete details are available from the Graduate Office.
The Library will purchase one hardbound copy of each thesis and dissertation for Archives. All
UNO dissertations completed since 1996 and all Master's and Educational Specialist's theses submitted
since Fall 2007 will be available electronically in the database,
Dissertations and Theses @ UNO. Electronic access should be available approximately 8 - 12 weeks
after submission.

Honor's Theses
Honor's theses are submitted in paper and require the following:
- Honor's Office Thesis Acceptance Form.
- A separate copy of your title page.
- Two copies of your thesis for the Library, an archive copy and a circulating copy. Each copy
MUST be submitted in its own envelope.
- The archive copy is a permanent, non-circulating master copy which must be submitted on 20 lb.
bond paper and have original acceptance signatures. Illustrations, graphs, etc. must be original.
- Optional: Any number of department, advisor, and personal copies may be included for binding at
$9.00 each. Please follow departmental guidelines. Copies will be picked up at the Honor's Office.
The Library will accept personal copies only at the time of submission.
- Bindery shipments are sent out once a month and returned the following month so it may take 2
months or more to receive personal or departmental copies.

Writers Workshop Theses
Writer's Workshop theses are submitted in paper and require the following:
- Writers Workshop Thesis Acceptance Form.
- A separate copy of your title page.
- Two copies of your thesis for the Library, an archive copy and a circulating copy. Each copy
MUST be submitted in its own envelope.
- The archive copy is a permanent, non-circulating master copy which must be submitted on 20 lb.

M.F.A. in Writing Creative Theses:
- M.F.A. in Writing Acceptance Form
- A separate copy of your title page.
- One (1) copy of your thesis for the Library archives, one (1) copy for UNK Library archives,
one (1) departmental copy, and one personal copy (if desired). If more personal copies are desired,
please contact the Writer's Workshop.
- The archive copies are permanent, non-circulating master copies which must be submitted on 20 lb.

Tracking Your Thesis or Dissertation
- Check the Theses & Dissertations Processing Database for Information on when your thesis will be available.
- When your thesis is returned to your department for distribution, the "available" date will be filled in.
- When your thesis is cataloged, the title will be linked to the Library Catalog record.
