Single Study Room Policy

The University Library has 14 state-of-the-art study rooms available to the UNO community for quiet, individual study or VHS/DVD viewing. Rooms are equipped with desk, chair, whiteboard, and network connection.

Eligible Users

Single Study rooms are available to current UNO students, faculty, and staff.

Check-out

Eligible users should present their UNO MavCard I.D. to the Main Service Desk in order to check out a room on their library account and receive a key. The key is the sole responsibility of the user to whom it is checked out. Rooms that have been reserved but are not checked out within 15 minutes after the start tiime will be released for use by another individual.

Terms of use

Patrons who do not abide by this policy will forfeit their single study room privileges for the remainder of the day.

  • Rooms are intended for individual use only. Group study rooms are available for collaborative work.
  • Rooms may be reserved in advance either on the Library website, in person, or over the phone; however, they can only be made within the current month.
  • A room may be renewed if the following two hour block has not been reserved by another person. Renewals may be done 10 minutes prior to when the key is due back at the Main Service Desk.
  • Rooms must be vacated and the key returned to the Main Service Desk 15 minutes before the Library is scheduled to close. Fines will accrue if the key is not returned on time to the Main Service Desk.
  • The room is intended for academic study and research purposes. Individuals that engage in non-academic or disruptive behavior will be asked to leave the study room.
