Who Can Use the Service?
Whether you need help getting started with your research or you're looking for more basic information, such as facts and figures, the University Library is available to answer your questions. The goal of the Ask a Librarian service is to support current UNO students, faculty/staff, active Friends of the Library and registered UNO Alumni as they seek information and resources to meet their needs.
Anyone can ask questions. UNO students, faculty/staff, active Friends of the Library and registered UNO Alumni have top priority. As time and staffing permit service for those not affiliated with UNO may be answered.

Lengthy research is unavailable through the Ask a Librarian service.
We do not provide loans of books held at other libraries or the photocopying and delivery of journal articles through Ask a Librarian.

I've submitted my request. Now what?
Library staff check for incoming Ask a Librarian requests throughout the day. Your questions will be answered within 48 hours (2 working days), or, for a more detailed question, forwarded to an appropriate subject specialist. If possible, questions received via Ask a Librarian will be responded to as soon as possible after holidays and unscheduled closings.
